Meet Lena
“Hurry up!” yelled Diane. She was ahead of everyone,
“We’re coming, we’re almost there, don’t worry,” said Lola.
“Well if you don’t hurry up, then I’ll leave you all behind,” said Diane.
“Technically, you already have,” said Kayla.
“I mean far enough that you couldn’t see me,” said Diane.
“Whatever,” said Stephanie. Diane ran straight ahead, of them,
“Be careful, you’ll trip,” said Stephanie.
“Whatever, you’re not mom,” said Diane.
“I’m telling you,” said Stephanie. Diane paid no attention to her practical sister, until all of a sudden she tripped on something huge and bruised her leg badly,
“Ow, what was that?” she groaned. The girls ran to her,
“Are you okay?” asked Kayla.
“I told you,” said Stephanie.
“Sorry, I’ll listen to you next time,” said Diane.
“Fat chance,” said Lola.
“Nikki, don’t you have a first aid kit?” said Kayla.
“Oh yeah, my mom always makes me carry one,” said Nikki. She got it out and used it on Diane. Nikki quickly finished and Diane stood up,
“Thanks Nikki,” said Diane.
“No problem,” said Nikki.
“What was that anyways?” asked Stephanie.
“I don’t know, but it was huge,” said Diane.
“Hey, look,” said Lola. She pointed to a big tablet on the ground. They walked over to it,
“I can’t believe I didn’t see it, it’s huge,” said Diane.
“It says something on it,” said Nikki. Kayla moved all the moss and dirt off of it and read,
“Only those true can see, open your eyes to find the answers with the key,” she said. Everyone was stumped,
“Answers with the key?” asked Diane.
“What does that mean?” asked Stephanie. Kayla suddenly felt something in her hand, she looked down and saw a fancy key with a heart shaped end,
“Hey, do you see a keyhole anywhere?” She asked. They all looked around,
“I see it,” said Lola she pointed to a tiny hole in the middle of the tablet,
“But why?” asked Diane. She showed them the key,
“Try it, I bet it’d work,” said Nikki. Kayla put the key in and turned it, they heard a clicking noise, and Kayla pulled the key out and the tablet sunk into the ground. In its place was a chest. Everyone was stunned, they had no idea what to do,
“What do you guys want to do?” asked Kayla.
“I say we open it,” said Nikki.
“Me too,” said Lola.
“Us too,” said Stephanie and Diane Simultaneously.
“Okay then,” said Kayla. The opened the chest and out floated a pink fuzzy creature with big eyes and ears, with white strands coming out on the top of her head, and little wings. The creature’s eyes were closed and it looked like it was sleeping. It slowly opened its eyes, as soon as it saw the girls it got scared and ran for cover behind some rocks. No one knew what to do until Diane stepped forward,
“Hi, we’re sorry, we didn’t mean to scare you, my name’s Diane, you want to come out and tell us yours?” she said. The creature came out and spoke,
“My name’s Lena, sorry, I was just startled, I haven’t left that chest in years,” said Lena.
“Wow, well welcome to the outside, I’m Kayla,” said Kayla.
“Lola,”
“I’m Nikki,”
“And I’m Stephanie, you can call me Steph. Diane’s my twin, so don’t get us confused, but I’m just a little taller, since I’m older,”
“Just by two minutes. Anyways, you know me, I’m Diane, but call me Di,”
“Hello,” said Lena, “Thank you or setting me free.”
“Lena, if you don’t mind, how did you get in there?” asked Kayla.
“I was tricked,” said Lena.
“By who?” asked Lola.
“You don’t need to know now, maybe at a later point,” said Lena.
“Okay, no problem,” said Nikki. All of a sudden, Lena realized something,
“Wait a minute, if I’m here, and you set me free, then…” she said.
“What happened?” asked Stephanie. They heard a beep,
“What was that?” asked Lola. Kayla looked down,
“That was my watch, we have to leave now, I forgot, we have to help set up our first activity,” she said.
“Oh, I forgot, come on,” said Nikki. They looked at Lena,
“So, I guess we’ll have to come back soon,” said Kayla.
“Nope, here,” said Lena. She gave Kayla a locket and opened it, “My house is inside there, I’ll go and you can take me with you.”
“Okay, come on,” said Kayla. Lena went inside. Kayla closed the locket, they grabbed their things and ran.
